Sgt. Skiles, Sgt. Sapp, Officer Worley, and Officer Carey were nominated for this recognition award for their life saving response to a report of an unconscious person lying in a state parking lot on January 31, 2005. Skiles, Sapp, Worley, and Carey located the subject and found that he was not breathing nor had any pulse. Working as a team, CPR was administered on the subject and the automated external defibrillator was utilized to revive and sustain the subject until he could be transported to the hospital.
