Current Programs & Initiatives

Organized 3 October 2006 – organizational structure follows critical infrastructure sector representation, plus additional sectors such as retail, manufacturing, etc.

  • Identification of Emergency Assets/Resources. The MOP3 Resource Register will be implemented with the Missouri Emergency Resource information System, as an actionable database of private sector companies that would provide goods and/or services upon declaration by authorized personnel of a disaster.
  • MOP3 Review and Input to the NRP / NIMS. We are participating as a lead organization at the request of FEMA Region VII to provide private sector input to the recently announced review of the National Response Plan/NIMS.
  • Intelligence / Information Fusion. Public agencies in the State could benefit from the increased involvement of private companies in helping to deter terrorist activity through increased surveillance and situational awareness.
  • Business Operations Cell (BOC). The MOP3 occupies emergency management positions within the State Emergency Operations Center to provide private-sector expertise on resource availability during disasters, and provides industry specific situational awareness to the State.

Future Initiatives

  • Information for Businesses – Augment specific additional information for businesses on natural hazards / homeland security preparedness, response planning, and COOP.
  • Business Emergency Response Liability – Work to implement legislative initiatives to protect responding companies against liability arising from their disaster response efforts.
