Law Enforcement Make Arrests,
Cite Club for Violations in Callaway County
JEFFERSON CITY, May 21, 2007-Last week, the Missouri
Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, the Missouri State Highway
Patrol, and the Callaway County Sheriff’s Department combined
in a joint enforcement effort in the southern portion of Callaway
County.
The operation targeted underage alcohol use and driving
under the influence in relation to an event held at the Ridenhours
Mud Run Club.
“The combined effort of law enforcement is crucial
in combating liquor law violations,” said Alcohol and Tobacco
Control State Supervisor, Peter Lobdell. “Underage drinking
and driving while intoxicated are two offenses that can have life
or death consequences.”
During the event Alcohol and Tobacco Control agents
arrested 12 minors for possession of alcohol. Highway Patrol Troopers
and Callaway County Deputies made 35 misdemeanor arrests including
five DWI’s, two felony arrests, and one arrest for assaulting
a law enforcement officer.
Law enforcement officers responded to multiple fights
at or near the event. Twelve administrative violations were cited
against the club license, including allowing minors to consume alcohol,
improper acts, lewdness, and disorderly house. These violations could
result in fines, license suspension or license revocation.
