Sons of the American Revolution
Recognize Pete Lobdell for Outstanding Service
JEFFERSON CITY, September 26, 2006-In a ceremony at
the Kansas City Police Department, the Sons of the American Revolution
honored Pete Lobdell for his pledge to the law enforcement community.
“I am proud of the work the division of Alcohol
and Tobacco Control has accomplished under the Blunt Administration
as we continue to be an active agency dedicated to establishing a
law enforcement presence in Missouri communities,” said Pete
Lobdell State Supervisor for Alcohol and Tobacco Control. Through
enforcement efforts and education we will continue lowering access
of alcohol and tobacco to our underage youth and I am honored by this
special recognition.”
Under the Blunt Administration, the division has sought
to modernize the state regulations relating to alcohol and tobacco.
The division has created a number of statewide ad hoc committees to
review existing statutes and state regulations and to provide input
from the industry. The division has also enhanced training for enforcement
officers and streamlined the review of complaints filed against license
holders.
The law enforcement commendation medal was created to recognize persons
who have served with distinction and devotion, making contributions,
which exceed requirements and expectations of their job descriptions.
Medals and certificates presented go to individuals who are deserving
recipients with law enforcement agencies or those professions associated
with law enforcement.
Before assuming his duties as the State Supervisor,
Lobdell was a special agent for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and
Firearms (ATF). He is a certified fire investigator, served as a member
of the national response team for ATF. In that capacity, he served
as a member of the response team in 2001 when they were dispatched
to the Pentagon, and he served as an integral member of the team in
Salt Lake City for the 2002 Winter Olympics. In addition to being
an investigator and special agent, he has served as an ATF academy
instructor, has been a frequent instructor to state and local agencies
on fires and explosions, and he served on a number of special details
with the United States Secret Service and the State Department.
