Missouri’s Fallen Firefighters Honored this Weekend

JEFFERSON CITY, May 19, 2006-Three fallen Firefighters will be honored during a candlelight vigil on Saturday at dusk and with a memorial on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the Fire Fighters Memorial of Missouri in Kingdom City.

This weekend’s events will honor three Firefighters killed in the line of duty since last May including Firefighter Robert Allen Bestgen of the Osborn Fire Protection District, Firefighter Timmy Shane Hardy of the Neosho Fire Department and Captain Alan Leake of the Fulton Fire Department. In addition the events will pay respect to the more than 20 Firefighters who died of non-line of duty causes since May 2005.
