James Announces MIAC Operating Hours Expanded

JEFFERSON CITY, June 12, 2006-Director of Public Safety, Mark James announced today that the Missouri Information and Analysis Center (MIAC) now has expanded operational hours Monday thru Friday 7 a.m. to midnight.

“Today’s announcement is an ongoing effort to ensure Missouri's first intelligence center meets the goals and expectations for the law enforcement community it serves,” James said.

While the MIAC hotline is always monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the expanded hours translates into more analytical and intelligence services to local and state enforcement agencies.

The MIAC is the mechanism to collect incident reports of suspicious activities to be evaluated and analyzed in an effort to identify potential trends or patterns of terrorist or criminal operations within the state of Missouri.

Missourians can call 1-866-362-MIAC (6422) to report suspicious activity. Citizens may also report a tip by e-mail to miac@mshp.dps.mo.gov. The MIAC homepage can be viewed at www.miacx.org.
