Blunt Announces Nearly $700,000
in Local Law Enforcement Grants
JEFFERSON CITY, Dec. 13, 2005-Gov. Matt Blunt today
announced nearly $700,000 has been awarded to local law enforcement
agencies through the federal Local Law Enforcement Block Grant JAG
program (LLEBG/JAG).
Of the 186 law enforcement agencies that applied for
funding through their city or county, 110 were chosen to receive the
Local Law Enforcement Block Grants for the purpose of reducing crime
and improving public safety. Missouri was able to secure $694,826.58

“I am pleased that these funding opportunities
are available to assist local law enforcement efforts,” Blunt
said.
The program is made available through the U.S. Department
of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and is administered
through the Missouri Department of Public Safety. Agencies may apply
