State Fire Marshal Asks For Tips in Greene County Fire, $5,000 Reward

GREENE COUNTY, December 19, 2005- The Missouri Division of Fire Safety is assisting the Greene County Sheriff’s Department with the investigation of a fire, which occurred on Dec. 14, 2005 near Willard, Missouri. The fire involved a building owned by Kevin Palmer of Willard. Damage to the building was estimated at $30,000.

Division of Fire Safety Investigator Randy Sweet said information obtained at the scene indicated an unknown person assaulted Mr. Palmer and then set the building on fire.

The Willard Fire Protection District was notified of the fire around midnight. Fire district personnel responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

Anyone having information concerning this investigation is asked to call the Missouri Arson Hotline at 1-800-392-7766 (1-800-39- ARSON). A reward of up to $5,000 is available for information leading to an arrest in this matter.
