Council to Approve Regionalization Plan, Discuss State’s Emergency
Operations Plan
JEFFERSON CITY, October 6, 2005-Under the direction
of Mark James, Chairman of the Homeland Security Advisory Council
and Director of Public Safety, the council will hold their third meeting
at the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) located at 2302 Militia
Drive at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
Agenda items include discussion and slated approval
of the Regionalization Plan that will unify homeland security efforts
around the state in regions similar to the Highway Patrol’s
regions, review and approval of an executive order on the National
Incident Management System (NIMS), and a proposal for expenditures
related to the Interoperable Communications.
The second half of the council meeting will be closed
while confidential information is passed among the member agencies.
