State Department Directors
to Speak at Government Association Fall Retreat
LAKE OF THE OZARKS, October 4, 2005-Several of Gov.
Matt Blunt’s key department leaders will address the Missouri
Association of Council of Governments fall retreat October 5th and
6th.
Mark James, Director of the Department of Public Safety,
Greg Steinhoff, Director of the Department of Economic Development,
Doyle Childers, Director of Natural Resources, and Pete Rahn, Director
of the Department of Transportation, will address the group at separate
times to discuss their respective agencies’ role in intergovernmental
activities and regional planning and developing efforts in order to
serve Missouri better.
All of the leaders chosen to speak are members of Gov.
Blunt’s Homeland Security Advisory Council chaired by Public
Safety Director Mark James.
The non-profit association was created in 1976 to involve
local policymakers in statewide planning activities.
