Gov.
Blunt to Honor 400 deploying Soldiers at Kauffman Stadium Ceremony
JEFFERSON CITY, August 11, 2005—Gov. Matt Blunt will address
the 110th Engineer Battalion of The Missouri Army National Guard tomorrow
in a deployment ceremony with soldiers and family members at Kauffman
Stadium.
The soldiers are being deployed to assist with Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The media is invited to cover the deployment ceremonies for the approximately
400 soldiers deploying with the 110th Engineer Battalion, The ceremony
will be held at Kauffman Stadium at 9:00 a.m., Friday, August 12.
Interested media should report to Gate B on the east side of Kauffman
Stadium no later than 8:30 a.m.
The
110th Engineer Battalion was last deployed May 2003 for a year in
support of Operation Noble Eagle with duty at various stateside locations.
