National Incident Management System
The NIMS provides a common approach to state and national response that enables responders at all levels to work together more effectively to manage domestic incidents.
NIMS includes a core set of guidelines, standards, and protocols for command and management, preparedness, and communications in emergency situations. NIMS has been mandated for implementation in the state of Missouri by the Governor’s Executive Order 05-42. The order calls for all state agencies to embrace and use NIMS in conjunction with any large scale emergency in Missouri.
