Fire Marshal Urges Fireworks Safety as July Fourth Approaches

CITY, June 26, 2009 – With Fourth of July weekend celebrations
just a week away, State Fire Marshal Randy Cole, in conjunction with
the National Association of State Fire Marshals, is advising Missourians
that the safest way to enjoy fireworks is at public displays put on
by professionals.

of Fire Safety Aims for Safe Summer Amusement Rides Season
JEFFERSON CITY, June 4, 2009 — Missouri’s Division
of Fire Safety is already busy conducting “spot” safety
inspections of carnival and other amusement rides to help ensure a
safe summer season. The Division, a part of the Missouri Department
of Public Safety, has responsibility for oversight and enforcement
of Missouri’s Amusement Ride Safety Act.

of Valor Review Board to Consider Nominations for Annual Award Honoring
Public Safety Officers
JEFFERSON
CITY, June 1, 2009 – The Missouri Medal of Valor Review Board
will meet this month to consider nominations for Missouri's annual
award honoring extraordinary valor above and beyond the call of duty
by a Missouri public safety officer. The Board will then send its
recommendations to Governor Jay Nixon. May 30 was the deadline for
nominations for recognition of acts of valor during 2008.
